ESR of Cr5+ ions in metavanadates of alkali metals
Description
Considered are ESR spectra of Cr5+ ion in metavanadates of LiVO3, NaVO3, KVO3 and RbVO3. The g-tensor and hyperfine structure tensor have an axial character, whereas superfine-structure tensor is rhombic. Constants of spin hamiltonian are obtained. The value of the constant of interaction with 51V nuclei is supposed to be substantially dependent on the angle of V-O-V in various structures due to the increase of the overlap integrals, Ssub(σ d) and Ssub(σ 4s), with the growth of this angle. The effect of alkali cations on the form of signals is mainly conditioned by dipole interaction
