Preparation of 230Th and 234Th tracers
Description
Methods are suggested for the preparation of 230Th and 234Th from Pitchblende and natural uranium samples respectively. They are based on the extraction of thorium(IV) together with iron(III) and negligible amounts of uranium(VI) and cerium(III) into 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benszoyl-pyrazole-5-one/xylene from hydrochloric acid solutions. Thorium is back extracted from the organic phase by scrubbing with 5 M HCl. The procedures are simple and do not require any further processing. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
