Description

High-field magnetization measurements on single crystals of (Nd0.9Y0.1)2Fe14B and (Nd0.9La0.1)2Fe14B have been performed in steady magnetic fields up to 230 kOe. The substitution of Y or La for Nd was found to have a more significant effect on the jump field, at which the first-order magnetization process occurs, than on the saturation magnetization. The observed data are successfully described by a simple dilution model based on the crystalline electric field and molecular field parameters obtained for Nd2Fe14B. (orig.)
