Main points of safety and protection against sealed sources in their industrial applications

In addition to radiation injury, nuclear logging and other procedures, sealed sources are widely used in common nuclear apparatus, like static-electricity eliminator, thickness meter, level gage and densimeter, in which a considerable number of sealed sources are installed on the online test equipment. This paper describes the primary features of sealed sources in aspects of safety and protection in industry in terms of their characteristics and types. (authors)
