Process and device for controling lateral wall of fuel assembly storage cell

Description

The inspection procedure involves moving a detection system along the length of the wall of a cell in the fuel storage rack immersed in water. The detection system has at least one probe for determining the wall thickness. The probe signal is received above the pond and compared against a reference signal. This process allows to verify the presence of neutron absorbing material in the side walls of the cell

Abstract (French)

On deplace un ensemble de detection, sous eau a l'interieur de la piscine de stockage du combustible, sur toute la hauteur et au voisinage d'une paroi de l'alveole. L'ensemble de detection comporte au moins une sonde de controle d'epaisseur de materiau. On recueille, depuis une zone situee au-dessus de la piscine les indications de la sonde et on compare ces indications avec des mesures de reference. Le procede de controle permet de verifier la presence de materiau absorbant les neutrons dans les parois laterales de l'alveole
