Contributions of the government of Upper Austria to reduce high radon exposures
Description
The goal of the radon mitigation project SARAH (Renovation of radon-exposed houses), which is the successor of ONRAP (Austrian national radon project), is to reveal general applicable methods for preparing concepts, assessing of costs, carrying out and controlling of measures to reduce radon concentrations based on the results of the reviewed renovation of three houses. The effect of these different measures on the substance and indoor-functions of houses was subject of this research work. The designated aim was to produce a basis for providing public information, preparing drafts for legal standards, consideration of Radon in planning or dedications of regions and for giving promotions. Abstract (German)
In Fortsetzung des OeNRAP's (oesterreichisches nationales radon projekt) sollten mit dem Forschungsprojekt SARAH (Sanierung radonbelasteter Haeuser) allgemein anwendbare Methoden zur Konzeption, kostenmaessigen Abschaetzung, Durchfuehrung und Ueberpruefung von Radonsanierungsmassnahmen anhand der praktischen Sanierung von 3 Haeusern erarbeitet werden. Die Wechselwirkungen von diesen Massnahmen auf die Gebaeudesubstanz und auf die Funktionsbezuege innerhalb des Gebaeudes wurden ueberprueft. Konkretes Ziel war, eine Grundlage zu schaffen fuer Informationsbroschueren fuer die Bevoelkerung, fuer die Ausarbeitung von gesetzlichen Bestimmungen, fuer die Beruecksichtigung der Radonproblematik in der Raumordnung und fuer Foerderungsrichtlinien.
