Description
In order to simplify denitration process by microwave heating during uranyl nitrate denitrated and converted into UO3, the UO3 is further heated in microwave field. The phase change happens and forms a single product U3O8. When the phase change causes the temperature of the product to raise 200-300 degree C in two minutes, the temperature can be controlled by input microwave power. At about 500 degree C the U3O8 can be obtained. It does not contain residual NOx and has a specific surface area >3 m2/g. The temperature is determined by IR-Thermometer and Photo-fibre thermometer. The size and material of denitration vessel is decided for the designated feed of HEU(90 g(I)/l, 4 mol/l HNO3 and 1.21 per batch). The working curve by microwave denitration and technical conditions are researched. The microwave denitration unit for HEU is designated
