Apparatus for fixing radioactive wastes in concrete
Description
Radioactive wastes are mixed with cement in containers which are moved under the waste adding-mixing area and elevated to join the container edges to the edges of an appropriate opening in the mixing chamber. The waste is added to the cement in the container and the mixture is mixed. The container is then removed and the mixture allowed to solidify. The process can handle low- to medium-activity wastes and is simple and easy and safe to maintain. (orig./PW)
