Determination of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of R-T compounds with the easy magnetization direction perpendicular to the c-axis
- 1. Technische Univ., Vienna (Austria). Inst. fuer Experimentalphysik
Description
A spinning-sample magnetic alignment (SSMA) method has been used to align the basal planes of non-uniaxial Y2Fe17 and Gd2Fe17 compounds parallel to each other. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy fields of magnetically aligned Y2Fe17 and Gd2Fe17 were determined, for the first time, in the temperature range from 4.2 K to the Curie temperature using the SPD technique in a pulsed-field magnetometer.
