Resonant absorption of deuteron-capture γ-rays
- 1. Fysisch Laboratorium, Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, The Netherlands
Description
The experiment described in this paper shows that resonant absorption of deuteron-capture γ-rays is feasible. The E/sub X/ = 16.98 MeV, T = 3/2 level of 9Be has been resonantly excited by γ-rays from the 7Li(d, γ)9Be resonance at E/sub d/ = 361 keV. Preliminary analysis of the data gives a total level width Γ(16.98 MeV) = 500 +- 50 eV, and a radiative width Γ/sub γ//sub //sub o/ = 32 +- 5 eV. These data are relevant for the isospin mixing of this highly-excited and narrow state
