Possibility to detect neutrons from thermonuclear reactions in conditions of high reactor noise

Description
Possibilities for application of two polymer dielectric detectors on the basis of (PAGC - C12H18O7) and (PETP - C5H4O4) for registration of neutrons with the energy of 14 MeV are studied. The detector on the basis of PAGC is used for registration of 4 He ions with the energy up to 100 MeV. Fast ions by transition through detectors and in the course of their interaction with the polymer nuclei (H, C, O) cause the origination of nuclei response tracks (scattering) and the charged particles (nuclear reactions). The 12 C(n, n')3 α reactions with effective registration threshold of 9.6 MeV were studied. 10 refs., 1 fig., 1 tab
