Search for spontaneous fission of 226Ra and systematics of the spontaneous fission α-decay and cluster decay probabilities

Description
The low limit of the 226Ra spontaneous fission half-life corresponding to T1/2 ≥ 4x1018 years is measured. The 226Ra spontaneous fission probability proved to be about 50 times less than the value expected from the known systematics, connecting the ratios of the α-decay and spontaneous fission probabilities with the fissility parameter Z2/A. It is shown that the probabilities of spontaneous fission, α-decay and cluster decay of even-even nuclei with 88 ≤ Z ≤ 100 can be systematized in the same way according to the difference between the decay product Coulomb energy near the scission point Vc and decay energy Q

Измерен нижний предел спонтанного деления 226Ra, соответствующий T1/2 ≥ 4x1018 лет. Вероятность спонтанного деления 226Ra оказалась в примерно 50 раз меньше ожидаемой из известной систематики, связывающей отношение вероятностей α-распада и спонтанного деления с величиной параметра делимости Z2/A. Показано, что вероятности спонтанного деления, α-распада и кластерного распада четно-четных ядер с 88 ≤ Z ≤ 100 могут быть систематизированы единым образом по величине разности кулоновской энергии вблизи точки разделения Vc и энергии распада QAdditional details
