Description
Acoustic pulse generation in composite with needle-like inclusions by pulsed radiation beam causing crack formation near inclusions is theoretically investigated. The critical value of the radiative transport is estimated when dilatation from the crack formation begins introducing the main contribution to the acoustic pulse generation. The dependence of amplitude of the generated wave on both the number of particles in the radiation pulse and the value of external tensile stress is determined. The availability of nonlinear acoustic response of composite as indicator of destruction at pulsed radiative action is discussed.
