Description

Neutron activation reaction cross sections for the reactions 153Eu(n, p)153Sm, 186W(n, γ)187W and 115In(n, γ)116mIn have been measured using the off-line γ counting method for 3.2 MeV neutrons. 7Li(p, n)7Be was used as a source of neutrons from 14 MV BARC-TIFR Pelletron accelerator. The two reactions 115In(n, n')115mIn and 197Au(n, γ)198Au were used as standards for the cross section measurement. The measured data were compared with the predictions of the statistical model code EMPIRE-2.19 based on the Hauser-Feshbach theory and a good agreement is obtained for all the systems after including the discrete levels in a judicious manner.
