This patent describes an apparatus for protecting organisms and the environment from harmful emissions from a radiation source by shielding the organisms and environment from at least a portion of such emissions, it comprises: metallic shielding parts located to absorb emissions form the source, and means, electrically interposed between the one and other shielding parts and physically remote from the source
