Application of LaBr3 (Ce) in explosive inspection

Description
LaBr3 (Ce) detector reveals good performance in gamma-ray detection for its high energy resolution and excellent linear response. In the institution of explosive inspection by the associated particle technology. The characteristic of LaBr3 (Ce) detector including the research of status and the progress was presented. The performance of detector was measured by standard gamma source. Meanwhile, LaBr3 (Ce) detector performance was compared with other detectors such as BaF2, NaI(Tl) and LaC13 (Ce). The results show that the LaBr3 (Ce) detector has a good application in the explosive inspection. (authors)
