Description

Objective: To provide the anatomic basis for the posterior approach technique in treating C2-C7 lesions with percutaneous vertebroplasty. Methods: Plain CT scanning of C2-C7 vertebrae was performed in 40 adults. The transverse and vertical diameter of the pedicles were measured and analyzed. Results: The transverse diameter of C2-C7 pedicles was (5.13±1.13) mm, and the vertical diameter was (6.61±1.23) mm. Conclusion: The data of C2-C7 pedicle's transverse and vertical diameters obtained from thes study are very useful, it provides anatomical basis for the posterior approach technique in treating C2-C7 lesions with percutaneous vertebroplasty.
