Excitation of unnatural parity states in light nuclei by 800 MeV polarized protons
Description
Cross sections and analyzing powers have been measured at 800 MeV for inelastic proton excitation of unnatural-parity states in 6Li, 12C, and 14N at small momentum transfer. Cross sections are comparable in magnitude with those measured at lower energies. Negative analyzing powers observed for the first time at 800 MeV appear characteristic of unnatural-parity transitions with no isospin transfer. 5 figures
