Description
In order to determine glomerular filtration (GF) in children, the method of a single injection has been investigated. The clearance values have been calculated on the basis of plasma probes taken 3, 4 and 5 hours after the venous incorporation of a certain indicatory activity. It has been found that the activity of extra- and intravasal space are equalized both in children and adults 3 hours after the injection. GF average values determined after the third and fourth hour (91, 37, 18, 31) do not differ authentically from those determined after the fourth and fifth hour (90, 73, 18, 44). Blood tests are recommended to be taken 3 and 4 hours after the injection. The authors have shared their experience in using this method in 190 investigated children with renal diseases. (author)
