Activation spectra measurements with a HPGe detector
- 1. Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University, Prague (Czech Republic)

Description
Activation spectra of shale were measured with a view to assessing the potential of the HPGe detector in comparison to the NaI(Tl[ detector. All peaks are better visible with HPGe than with NaI(Tl). This asset, however, is outweighed by many drawbacks of this semiconductor detector, such as a long dead time, multiply longer measurement times, and price. (P.A.)
