Hydrogen plasticizing titanium alloys during hot dformation
Description
Phenomenon of hydrogen plasticizing titaniUm alloys is analyzed. It considered to be an extraordinary manifestation of usual phenomenon of superplasticity. It is shown that hydrogen increases diffusion mobility of atoms of alloy matrix. The obtained data on hydrogen plasticizing pergit to develop technology of isothermal stamping of VTZ-1 and VT18U alloys at temperatures by 120-130 deg C lower than usually used, including hydrogen absorption of the blanks, stamping and following vacuum annealing. Po-- ssibility of essential increase of stamp resistance and improvement of stamp appearance is established as a result of industry sampling of this technology
