Description

In the course of hydrothermal synthesis (400 deg C, 120 MPa) in the Na2O-Ho2O3-B2O3-H2O system two crystal ohases: holmium orthoborate+ HoBO3, and a new phase of the NaHO[BO2(OH)2]OH composition are obtained. The X-ray diffraction investigation is perfo med (diffractometer, lambdaMo, 890 reflexes, the least square method in anisotropic approximation up to R=8.3%) of the monocrystal NaHo[BO2(OH)2]OH with cell parameters a=5.142(2); b=6.434(4), c=6.155(3) A, β=114.7(2) deg, V=185.02 A3, Z=2, dsub(calc.)=5.07 g/cm3, sp. gr. P21/m. The structure consists of isolated [BO2(OH)2]-3-tetrahedrons and coordination polyhedrons of metal cations
