Climate-Energy Observatory - Results for 2017. Where is France?
Description
This publication proposes a brief assessment of France's public policies regarding ecological transition in 2017. It presents and briefly discusses data related to climate (national greenhouse gas emissions, greenhouse gas emissions by transports, by buildings, by the agricultural sector and by the industry) and to energy (global energy consumption, fossil energy consumption, renewable energies, nuclear energy). It recalls the role of the Climate-Energy Observatory, and indicates the methodology adopted for this assessment: selection of indicators, data origins, definition of annual objectives. It discusses perspectives of improvement for a better assessment, and also perspectives for evolutions and for regional and European declinations of such assessments. An appendix gives a table of selected indicators and of missing indicators
