Nonlinear stage of a drift-dissipative instability

Description

Three-dimensional equations describing the non-linear stage of drift-dissipative instability are derived. Using Galerkin approximation they are reduced to a system of standard differential equations for amplitudes of four non-linearly interacting wave modes. A transition through a system of bifurcations from a stead state to a strange attractor, corresponding to a stochastic regime of energy exchange between the drift modes is observed in this system with the growth of supercriticality
