Substoichiometric isotope dilution analysis of manganese in biological samples using 54Mn tracer (Paper No. RA-09)

  • 1. Nagpur Univ. (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

A substoichiometric isotope dilution method has been developed for the determination of Mn in several biological standards and samples. The method involves the use of carrier free 54Mn with 100μg Mn(II) carrier and its complexation with 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone(TTA) at pH 8.5 which is then extracted in isobutymethylketone. A minimum amount of 50ng manganese can be determined. The method is simple and yields more accurate and precise data. (author). 1 tab., 6 refs
