Serum copper level as a prognostic indicator of radiation response in carcinoma cervix uteri
- 1. S.N. Medical College, Agra (India). Dept. of Pathalogy
Description
Biochemical alterations during a disease process in the body are more sensitive than morphological changes. Locke (1932) found that serum copper level (SCL) is a sensitive indicator of disease process. Many workers have found that SCL can be used for diagnosis and prognosis of malignant disease. Only a few studies of SCL in carcinoma cervix have been done. In the present study we have used SCL to determine radiotherapy response in different stages and grades of carcinoma cervix.
