Time operator in quantum mechanics
Description
The time operator cannot be introduced into the standard quantum mechanics in a fully consistent way. The main reason is that any physical system is assumed to be described in the Hilbert space formed from eigenfunctions of the corresponding Hamiltonian. It is shown that the time operator can be introduced into an extended Hilbert space constructed from general solutions of time-dependent Schroedinger equation. Such an enlarged model is equivalent to the scattering theory proposed by Lax and Phillips
