Low-temperature time-resolved luminescent VUV spectroscopy of SrF2:Er3+ crystals

Description
Time-resolved excitation and emission spectra of SrF2 : Er3+ crystal upon selective excitation with synchrotron radiation in the vacuum UV (VUV) and ultrasoft X-ray ranges at T = 8 K were studied. The VUV luminescence of SrF2 : Er3+ stems from high-energy interconfiguration 4f 105d-4f 11 transitions in the Er3+ ion. The VUV emission spectrum revealed, in addition to the 164.5-nm band (millisecond-range kinetics), a band at 146.4 nm (with a decay time of less than 600 ns). The formation of excitation spectra for the f-f and f-d transitions in the Er3+ ion is discussed

Исследованы времяразрешенные спектры фотовозбуждения и люминесценции примесного свечения кристалла SrF2:Er3+ при селективном возбуждении синхротронным излучением вакуумного ультрафиолетового (ВУФ) и ультрамягкого рентгеновского диапазона при Т = 8 К. ВУФ-люминесценция SrF2:Er3+ связана с высокоэнергетическими межконфигурационными 4f 105d-4f 11-переходами в ионе Er3+. Наряду с полосой 164.5 нм (кинетика миллисекундного диапазона) в спектре ВУФ-люминесценции обнаружена полоса 146.4 нм (с временем затухания менее 600 пс).
