Effect of temperature on yield of molecular products in hydrochloric acid radiolysis
- 1. Moskovskij Khimiko-Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
The results of experiments in radiolysis under the action of Co60 p-radiation of 5.9 and 10.6 mol/l hydrochloric acid in the temperature range from 308-523 K are given.Qualitative analysis of temperature effect on the observed molecular product yield in hydrochloric acid radiolysis is carried out on the basis of modern representations about radiolytic transformations in aqueous solutions of inorganic acids. Qualitative estimation of efficiency of direct transformation of nuclear energy to a hydrogen energy carrier in the process investigated is given. Methods for increasing hydrogen yield in hydrochloric acid radiolysis in the region of lower concentrations and temperatures are envisaged
