The Debrecen Cyclotron

  • 1. Magyar Tudomanyos Akademia, Debrecen. Atommag Kutato Intezete

Description

The MGC type cyclotron constructed in Leningrad was put into operation at the ATOMKI, Debrecen, Hungary, in November, 1985. In the Cyclotron Laboratory which consists of the cyclotron itself, of measuring and computer centre, and of isotope laboratories, both fundamental and applied researches are carried out. Nuclear and atomic physical studies cover the fields of nuclear spectroscopy including in-beam spectroscopy, and the area of nuclear reactions induced both by charged particles and by secondary neutrons. Interdisciplinary researches involve solid state physics investigating crystal disorders, tracer techniques studying the mechanism of chemical and biological processes and irradiation methods.
