The mass-separator facility on-line to the heavy ion accelerator UNILAC at Darmstadt

  • 1. Gesellschaft fuer Schwerionenforschung m.b.H., Darmstadt (Germany, F.R.)

Description

A mass separator facility to study short-lived nuclides in heavy ion reactions is described. The instrument is connected on-line to a target position of the heavy-ion accelerator UNILAC at Darmstadt. Results from first test runs are presented showing the separation of alkali, noble gas and halogen isotopes from 5.9 MeV/nucleon Ar induced reactions with Sc and Y targets. (Auth.)
