Description
Radiopharmaceuticals based on I-123 and Fluor-18 became indispensable for diagnosis in nuclear medicine. In particular F-18 FDG is today the most important diagnostic in oncology with Positron-Emission-Tomography (PET). In the Cyclotron Department, radiodiagnostics are routinely produced and distributed to hospitals and private doctors. This report describes the production methods for the radioisotopes I-123 and Fluor-18, the formulation of the radiodiagnostics and their applications. Finally, there will be discussed some new developments for future radiopharmaceuticals. (orig.)
