Sensitivity and uncertainty analysis of the benchmark criticality experiments - 5-06

Description

A calculation system based on the first order perturbation theory was established to evaluate sensitivity and uncertainty related to neutron multiplication factors (keffS) of nuclear systems. Uncertainty assessments for critical experiments of homogeneous and heterogeneous cores were conducted in part of a series of experiments in the Static Experiment Critical Facility (STACY). The assessment results showed uncertainties of around 0.6% in keffS. It was much larger than those concerning material and geometrical parameters of the core, and other causes. In addition, integrated sensitivity and uncertainty analysis based on a modular code system SCALE6.0 showed some differences from the calculated results of the present calculation system. Some discussions on the differences were given. (authors)
