Measurement of energy spectra and correlated charged secondary particles following the absorption of stopped negative pions in oxygen containing compounds
Description
Targets of 0.259 and 0.0183 g cm-2 celluloseacetate and 0.277 as well as 0.0199 g cm-2 mylar are used. By measurements of the pionic X-radiation the relative capture rates oncarbon and oxygen are determined for both targets as 1.1:1 and1.7:1, respectively. Protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He, 4He, 6Li, and 7Li nuclei are identified from the energy threshold of 1.5 MeVup to the kinematical limit. (orig.)

Als Targets werden Folien von 0.259 und 0.0183 g cm-2 Zelluloseazetat und 0.277 sowie 0.0199 g cm-2 Hostaphan verwendet. Die relativen Einfangraten von Pionen in Kohlenstoff und Sauerstoff verhalten sich hierbei, wie durch Messung der pionischen Roentgenstrahlung gezeigt wurde, wie 1.1:1 bzw. 1.7:1. Getrennt werden Protonen, Deuteronen, Tritonen, Helium-3-, Helium-4-, Lithium-6- und Lithium-7-Kerne im Energieintervall von 1.5 MeV bis zu den kinematischen Grenzenergien. (orig.)
