Description
Highlights: • Risky esophagogastric varices in chronic liver disease are life-threatening. • These can be predicted using routine diagnostic 4-phase CT data. • Three significant predictors are as follows. • Direct visualization of the varices, extracellular volume fraction and volume of the spleen. • With this approach, management of patients becomes more appropriate. To clarify clinico-radiological factors for high-risk esophago-gastric varices (EGV), including extracellular volume fraction (ECV) of the liver, pancreas, and the spleen.
