  • 1. Okayama Univ. (Japan). School of Medicine

Description

The spread of cancer was first seized as an approach of individualization of radiation therapy for uterine cancer. The corresponding irradiation technique, its efficacy or radiation effect on the tumor foci were studied from radiation biological aspect. Functional and morphological studies of minute circulatory system in Walker tumor tissues were done from radiation biological aspect. Furthermore, we discussed from the aspect of venous blood of the tumor. Post-irradiated changes in minute circulatory system of normal skin and muscular tissues were described. From the aspect of minute circulation, enhancement of effectiveness of radiation therapy was discussed by using mixture gases of 95% O2 + CO2, some drugs and the status of hyperthermia. In the minute circulation study, morphology of development of tumor, the radiation effect and relationship between tumor blood efficacy and five-year-survival rate were stated. Finally, individualization of radiation therapy for the uterine cancer was described. (Serizawa, K.)
