Efficiency of SSNTD Spark Counters with fission fragment angular distribution

Description
Fission fragments from a 252Cf source were detected in 10μm thick Makrofol KG plastic. Measurements were done of observed track densities less than 100 tracks/cm2. The efficiency of the counter was determined as a function of the actual track density for each angle of incidence and correction factors analysed of the resulting counting losses. (author)

Fragmentos de fissao, provenientes de uma fonte de 252Cf foram detetatos em Makrofol KG de 10μm de espessura. Foram feitas medidas da densidade de tracos observada para varios angulos de incidencia e para densidade de tracos menores do que 100 tracos/cm2. Foi determinada a eficiencia do contador como uma funcao da densidade de tracos real para cada angulo de incidencia e analisados os fatores de correcao para as contagens perdidas.
