The radioactive element distribution in underground water of the Pripyat' Depression
Creators
Description
A study has been made of hydrogeochemistry of uranium and radium, which inform about perspectiveness of local structures as to oil and gas. The luminescence and radiochemistry analyses results are used. Drawn are the histograms of uranium and radium distribution in underground waters of the Pripyat' Depression, reaffirming logarithmically normal distribution of these elements in waters. These conclusions are tested using asymmetry excess and Pirson criterium and also probability diagram. The determined values of medium U and Ra concentrations testify to the presence of region infringements of radioactive equilibrium to Ra side. This is reaffirmed by analyses data and in most probability is the result of enriching the waters by Ra at the expense of water containing rocks. The increased Ra content is characteristic of hydrogeologically closed structures as compared to semiopened ones. Maximum Ra concentration is characteristic of underground waters of oil deposits
