Beginning of the experiments at the VEPP-2 electron-positron storage ring

Results of first experiments on high energy physics at the VEPP-2 positron-electron storage ring at 2x380 MeV are presented. The layout of spark chambers in one of the rectilinear gaps of the VEPP-2 is given. About 62000 readings of the counter system at small angles have been registered and 4500 photographs of spark chamber response have been taken during 51 h. Six of them exactly identify positron-electron scattering events. All the cases of positron-electron scattering are shown to be bunched along the beam trajectory
