Radiometric thickness gage for measuring the pipe wall thickness of plastic pipes
Description
The measurement is based on the reflection of 241Am gamma radiation. The device consists of three main components which have the following functions: (1) continuous measurement of the wall thickness; (2) movement of the measuring probe around the pipe in order to sense every point of the circumference; and (3) processing of the measuring signal for automatic control of the wall thickness. The application of the gage to automation and on-line control is briefly described
