Description
Systematic study on background radiation in the environment of Rawatbhata in Rajasthan State, has been carried out with an objective of establishing reliable background level data of the region. Integrated natural external exposure to the members of the public is estimated by placing thermo luminescent dosimeters (TLD's) at the pre selected locations for study period 2008-2017. The external natural gamma radiation dose to the population of Rawatbhata in the radial zone of 30 km measured varied in the range 445 μGy.y-1 to 735 μGy.y-1 with a mean of 578 μGy.y-1. The mean ambient natural radiation level measured using environment radiation survey meter is found to be 827 μGy y-1. (author)
