Erection of KKNPP dome liner
Description
The reactor-building dome for each of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) reactors is hemispherical in shape with a diameter of 44 m. The dome is made from 6-mm-thick carbon-steel plate (except crown portion, which is made of 10 mm thick plate). From the limitations on fabrication, transportation and erection point of view, the dome was fabricated in 4 parts. The technical parameters for each part are discussed in this article
