Description
The tandem accelerator was constructed at Department of Physics in Hakozaki Campus, Kyushu University in 1972. Various experiments related to nuclear data have been performed in the accelerator facility. For example, measurements of cross section and analyzing power p + d scattering, reaction cross section of 4He(12C, 16O)γ below 3 MeV. For engineering purpose, double differential neutron energy spectra were measured below 9 MeV deuteron incidence. Experiment of neutron angle differential thick target yield measurement was also performed for study of medical radioisotope production using accelerator neutrons. Center for Accelerator and Beam Applied Science was newly built in Ito Campus in 2008. The center has been upgrading a tandem accelerator and an FFAG synchrotron for the progress of beam science and engineering. (author)
