Evaluation of the characteristics of a piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) cosmic dust detector

Description
The characteristics of a cosmic dust detector using piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) to be onboard a spacecraft have been evaluated. Signals from the PZT detector bombarded with hypervelocity Fe micro-particles accelerated by a Van de Graaff accelerator were analyzed and the threshold level of the momentum measurement of incident dusts was determined.
