Measurement of void distributions in a horizontal pipe during blowdown by x-ray beam scanning method
Description
In order to measure void distributions across channel flow during blowdown from a high pressure water vessel to atmosphere, we have developed a new technique using a scanning x-ray beam and computer system. As a result of the experiment, it was shown that the system is effective to measure the local void distribution in a channel, especially in transient condition. Data as to how flow pattern changes during the blowdown in the upstream of the choke point were obtained
