Description

The operation of over 400 nuclear power plants worldwide requires an ever improving understanding of the human reliability to ensure as much as possible the safe operation of these plants and to restore confidence in nuclear power. Qualification of personnel and continuing education in training is a crucial factor. Apart from classroom training, simulators play a major role worldwide to prepare operators for normal operation and accident conditions. Furthermore the collection of human error data and the establishment of data banks has started to attract international interest, and an extension of the Incident Report System is envisaged to obtain more detailed information on the human involvement in accident situations
