Description
Magnetic measurements of (Y1-xGdx)2Co17 oriented powder samples versus temperature in the 78 to 300 K range are made, and the K1 and K2 values are calculated. To explain the differences of the anisotropy energy of Y2Co17 and Gd2Co17 compounds, the dipolar interactions of Gd moments are analysed. The values of the anisotropy energy calculated from dipolar interactions are in very good agreement with experimental values. (author)
