Seismic PRA
Description
This article discusses methodology for analyzing the contribution of earthquake-initiated accidents to overall risk in the context of probabilistic safety analysis of commercial nuclear power plants. This paper is an update of three earlier review papers by the same author. The paper begins by discussing the methodology, including both its strong features and its limitations. Then, the principal insights obtained in a few recent seismic PRA studies are summarized. Finally, an overview of the new seismic margins methodology is presented
