Description
Measurement at varying depths with C2Cl4 and KOH have been performed at the Homestake mine. The results have been analyzed to determine the magnitude of the cosmic ray muon background for the Homestake chlorine solar neutrino experiment. The total production rate for 37Ar by cosmic ray muons is estimated to be 0.047 ± 0.013 atoms per day. This value is in agreement with, but slightly lower than, previously values
