Investigations of Mechanical Degradation Characteristics of Alpha Keratin Fibers
Description
In this work, effects of some external factors such as chlorinated water of different doses and organic solvents such as toluene and acetone on mechanical properties of alpha keratin fibers have been investigated. Degradation processes under mechanical stress have been studied for wool fibres which were kept in water, chlorinated water of different doses, some organic solvents for different periods. It was proven that the general degradation mechanism of fibrous biopolymers has a thermoreflectance character and that the said external factors decrease initial degradation activation energy at which the degradation starts and it affects the degradation mechanism in this way
